ExperienceZone is a journey.
The one of your life. Better: The journey of changes in your life. Change yourself and the world. You can travel the world as well. Not only the one of ExperienceZone. Also our planet. This motherland deals with it. First a definition: Traveling means setting out for one or several particular places – either alone or in a group. The journey thus implies locomotion and a stay at the destination.

One thing is for sure: Traveling makes rich in experiences.
Why? Well, you deliberately escape daily life. Your routines. Your comfort zone. Hence, you ask your mind to realign. Take a different point of view. Be open to new places, situations, and people. Traveling is an integral part of your self-development. Finally, more experiences mean more knowledge, more flexibility, social interactions, and eventually memories. All of this will have a positive impact on your life. If you do it, right. I give you an introduction. Afterwards you will dive into this country and its colonies.

I start with myself.
Then it is your turn. First some recommendations.

Decision: Where do you want to go next?
Inside World: The travel type, duration, and destination are decisive. All three are primarily a function of your preferences. Voluntary travels generally serve recreation and relaxation purposes. Depending on your affinities and needs, there is a variety of travels potentially interesting for you. For instance the classical beach vacation, the health and wellness trip, the expedition, the culinary journey, study and city trips and many more. In addition, you can travel the whole world with just one ticket.
Outside World: In addition to the travel duration and cost, your social network and health condition can be limiting factors. In addition, there are mandatory trips. Their primary objective is not your personal relaxation and recreation. Business trips are good examples. They have a specific structure and are thus covered by a dedicated colony. Your social network can motivate you to travel (like friends) or limit your options (like small children, home loving partners, or sick parents). Your own health condition can enable travels (like expeditions) or prevent those (in case of serious sicknesses).

Preparation: What do you need to consider before traveling?
Travel Planning: Ice in the Antarctica, sand in the Sahara, snow in the Himalayan or just water in Norway’s fiords. In order to always be on the safe side; be aware of the country specific statements from the department of foreign affairs. On its webpage, you will find any travel warnings, safety notices and health related information, such as recommended vaccines.
Farewell: In case you planned a trip into the wilderness, provide your relatives and friends your coordinates beforehand. Align on how to stay in touch during your travels. Last but not least: Say goodbye – with either a joint dinner or a farewell party.

On a Journey: What to bear in mind whilst traveling?
Location: Get familiar with your destination upfront. This includes climate, weather, flora, fauna, and political, economic, cultural, and religious circumstances. Firstly, all parameters have an impact you packing list in the course of preparation. Pack your clothes according to the weather conditions for instance. Secondly, the parameters determine your behavior on the road.
People: Completely dive into the foreign country. This implies approaching local people and striving for cultural exchanges. Note that you are a guest. Therefore, be courteous, friendly, and accommodating. A fantastic way to get to know locals quickly is couch surfing. You sleep in their homes. They can give you priceless insider tips. Just think about if sleeping on a stranger’s sofa is considerable for you.

Wrap-up: So you are back. What do you do now?
Documentation: I highly recommend you an acclimatization weekend – especially after long trips. You will have some days to digest the impressions. If your mind receives much input in such a short timeframe, it just needs some hours to get things in order. In case you decide to dive into your daily life straight after your return, you miss the chance of proper reflection. Thus the opportunity to learn from the experiences.
Subsequent Planning: After the journey is before the journey. Following up on your documentation and thus impression digestion. Set the next highlight. Whether in a month or a year: Already think about where you would like to go next. If you have a travel list, update it and tackle the next country. In-time preparation has many advantages. Particularly the fact that you have something to look forward to as early as possible.

Enough travel enthusiasm. Now it is your turn.

Document your current state in the Travel Template. What do you want to achieve with traveling? How do you take travel decisions, prepare and behave at the destination and back home?

Afterwards, define the target state.

The third step is about your actions and due dates. What do you want to achieve by when?

Finally hang in there.
Complete all actions in the predefined timeframes. Travel preparation, execution, and wrap-up are complex topic areas. They offer a lifetime of learning. It is worth it. Traveling is one of the most precious privileges.

Bad Compromises
Many people religiously put their own dreams last. The result is that they never come true. I especially observe this when it comes to traveling. “Where does my partner want to go?”, “How long do our children have vacation?”, “Can I really go on an around-the-world-trip and leave my parents back home?” If your chatterbox talks like this, note one thing: You are only a few decades on this planet. Your task is to find and live your own mission. If traveling support you in that, just go for it. Be thoughtful and responsible towards other people. Yet live your dreams. Otherwise, no one else will do it for you.

Short Preparation and Wrap-up
Quickly throwing your clothes in the bag and off to the airport. If you think travel planning is much overestimated, it is likely that you forget stuff. Appreciate the learning experience. Block time for proper planning going forward. Whatever it is: You will significantly decrease your travel benefits if you head dive into your daily routines once back home. Be smart. Especially after longer trips, take at least two days to reflect.

Pleasure Prevention
Enjoying life means doing want you want to do. It is true for traveling. Not doing the things you came for will leave a bitter taste. You live here and now. Use the time at the destination. Expand your comfort zone. Take calculable risks. Embrace the country and people. Enjoy it.
